Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep a separate log of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
Messages sent by email may be retained so we can respond. They remain within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the server can collect standard technical details about the visit:
- Page-view dates and times
- The referring website, when one is supplied
- Pages opened and the length of each visit
- Device and operating-system type
- Browser name and version
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files stored on a device. They help measure traffic, popular pages, and where visits end. Analytics vendors may combine that activity into reports. A browser can block cookies, though some functions may then behave differently.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing a search query to the selected partner
- Maintaining reliable and fast page delivery
- Finding and repairing technical problems
- Measuring which content visitors use
- Selecting advertising that may be relevant
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Our content identifies where Dickson County records are held, including the Sheriff's Office, criminal court clerks, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and Tennessee Sex Offender Registry. Public access to Tennessee government records is governed by the Tennessee Public Records Act, Tenn. Code Ann. §§ 10-7-501 through 10-7-515, including the confidentiality exceptions in § 10-7-504. Registry dissemination is separately governed by Tenn. Code Ann. §§ 40-39-201 through 40-39-218. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search tools. Their privacy terms, retention periods, and sharing rules govern information submitted there. We do not control those practices, so review the provider's policy before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to sheriff, court, Tennessee agency, legal-aid, or outside service websites. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal data.
Advertising providers may track activity across websites to select ads. That processing occurs through their systems.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Some information may end up with:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Search partners that process submitted queries
- Advertising networks that serve site ads
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
We use ordinary security measures to protect collected data. No internet system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 and will remove such data when a valid request identifies it.
Your Data Rights
Rights may also arise under applicable Tennessee consumer-protection law, including the Tennessee Consumer Protection Act, Tenn. Code Ann. §§ 47-18-101 and following. Subject to the law and the data actually held, you may:
- Request access to data we hold about you
- Seek correction of inaccurate information
- Ask for deletion where the law permits it
- Decline certain processing activities
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this policy. A new version becomes available here with its effective date when the practices change.
